Southern Smoker

Living in the south is good for the most part but living with epilepsy falls under everyone's radar. Using cannabis as a medicine doesn't go far around here. Police drunk with power and holy rollers keep the drug war going strong in the bible belt. All I want is to be able to live my life without prescription pills and horrible side effects. I shouldn't have to choose between possible arrest or taking it with me when I leave home everyday. It's a plant...a miracle plant that heals and helps so many things. Trying to use reason and facts to someone around here is like talking to a brick wall. I just want everyone to understand I'm not a stoner and that I'm fighting for something important to me.

Not your Average Joint

I got my inspiration on this one from my sister who has started rolling her on cigarettes. I don't smoke cigarettes, but I do Medicate.  Most forums I looked on everyone was concerned that the filter would eliminate some of the THC. I was willing to use a little of my medicine in the name of science. So I used my sisters machine to test it out before I ordered my own It worked great it was packed ok and burned a little faster than a cigarette normally would but that wasn't a concern at the moment, I was just happy that it worked it was a very nice high nothing different than smoking a normal joint. I haven't found the perfect amount or had a perfect pack in one of them yet.        Pros: The filter doesn't take out THC. If it does its not enough to notice.                 The filter provides a smoother draw until the end.                 You don't have to worry about the end you hit from being wet and resinous                  Discreet. Big Bonus        Cons

After I come out of it everything is in such a haze. My head is throbbing the pain is horrendous. I don't know what day it is and my memories are scrambled.

Before I knew better

Growing up simi-privilaged in the south I was really protected from talk about marijuana as a drug or a medicine. When I got to high school I was so afraid of having a seizure in front of everyone that when I was offered anything besides alcohol I wouldn't take it. I didn't have a way knowing any different. the only knowledge I had was from "drugs are bad" speeches and D.A.R.E. (FYI DARE doesn't refer to marijuana as being a bad drug in their classes now ) I was a trusting kid, why would I doubt the ones that were trusted to educate me. Drugs are still bad, I just know now that weed isn't a drug, its a plant. Eventually I started smoking weed and realized how awesome its was and that it had never hurt anyone. I quit smoking weed for about 2 years and started having seizures again, that's when I started realizing that this is not just something that gets me high but its helping me. I enjoy researching and learning new things everyday almost as much as I en

You gotta start somewhere

Well here we are, This is Seize The Chronic . Our goal is to bring awareness to not only epilepsy but to cannabis as well. I want to bring change to the lives of those with epilepsy and tackle the stigma that comes with using marijuana as medicine. I will go over a lot of different topics like helping recognize triggers, using marijuana discreetly, diy tips and tricks, recipes, as well as opening up the minds of friends and family .
